Hailing from Salvador da Bahia, BaianaSystem is one of the most iconic and distinctive groups on Brazil’s contemporary music scene. Drawing from Jamaican sound system culture, Bahian guitar, Afro-Brazilian rhythms, Afrobeat and rock, the band has developed a powerful, organic and deeply contemporary sound.

On stage, BaianaSystem does more than simply perform: they create a collective experience. Driven by hypnotic rhythms, electric energy and a strong visual dimension, each performance becomes a true popular ritual, with the audience playing an integral part in the show.

A two-time Latin Grammy Award winner, including for the album O Futuro Não Demora, BaianaSystem has established itself in Brazil as one of the leading names in contemporary music. The band has also collaborated with major artists from Brazil and around the world, including Manu Chao, Seun Kuti, Gilberto Gil, Seu Jorge and Elza Soares.

Their international journey has taken them to some of the most renowned stages and festivals across contemporary and world music, including WOMEX, Roskilde Festival and Montreux Jazz Festival, as well as major Brazilian festivals such as Rock in Rio and Lollapalooza.
