Juliette Magnevasoa comes from Madagascar or elsewhere, she was adopted as a child, and this story, like all fairy tales, opens onto the adventure of growing up. Music comes naturally: it puts the pieces of the Juliette Magnevasoa jigsaw together. It joins her two lands and opens her up to a wider world.

When she plays, composes and writes, she is the fishbowl and the fish swimming in it. Both inside and at a distance. The intimate, once worked through music, can exist outside, towards others.

Juliette Magnevasoa has been performing in the south-west of France for almost 10 years, notably as part of the emblematic Basque duo Pauline & Juliette. Already spotted by notable artists ranging from Francis Cabrel to Richard Bona, including Gaby Moreno, Sian Potok, and Sandra Nkaké, ..., in 2024 she met BlackJoy from the label Les Rythmes Ruban, and this led to a critically acclaimed first single, La Playa, in collaboration with the famous producer Blundetto (Biga*Ranx, Aloe Blacc, Puppa Jim...). Together, they decided to continue the adventure and begin work on Juliette Magnevasoa's first solo EP.

Guitare nouée sur corps étanche is this mysterious organic process. It's her journey, her exile, her anchoring - in blue ink - her way of being in the world.

In July 2025, she released Routines, a collection of nine songs by artists who have shaped her throughout her life and form part of the foundation of her musical identity. Every morning without exception, Juliette Magnevasoa sings and accompanies herself on guitar for two and a half hours. It is her daily practice, a discipline that has become essential, her routine. Within this dedicated time, she works on guitar technique, voice, delivery, intention and embodiment. At the end of each session, she shares an excerpt of a song close to her heart — most often a cover — which she posts on Instagram. Her music is undeniably influenced by the artists she has long admired and listened to, including Gaby Moreno, Simon & Garfunkel, Anne Sylvestre and Nadau.

Recorded shortly after Guitare nouée sur corps étanche, this new opus reflects a core part of Juliette Magnevasoa’s musical foundation today: nine songs that have accompanied her since childhood, with melodies that will undoubtedly feel familiar. The project is produced and released by Les Rythmes Ruban.

While preparing her upcoming EPs and her first full-length album, already in the works, Juliette continues to take to the stage with her guitar and her singular sensitivity.

Upcoming EPs scheduled for March and July 2026 - Debut full-length album in preparation for 2027.
