Juliette Magnevasoa comes from Madagascar, or somewhere else entirely. Adopted as a young child, she grows up between her origins and the possibilities that lie ahead, with a singular story that, like a fairy tale, sets her on a journey of discovery. For her, music feels instinctive: it brings the pieces of the puzzle together, connects her two worlds and opens the door to something much bigger.

When she performs, composes or writes, Juliette is both the jar and the fish swimming inside it. Fully immersed in her songs, yet already able to step back and observe them from a distance. Through music, the personal can move beyond the self, be shared and find its way to others.

For nearly ten years, she has performed across southwestern France, notably as part of the acclaimed Basque duo Pauline & Juliette. Her musical world has caught the attention of artists such as Francis Cabrel, Richard Bona and Gaby Moreno. In 2024, she met BlackJoy from the Les Rythmes Rubans label, opening a new chapter in her journey. Together, they released La Playa, a critically acclaimed debut single produced with Blundetto, known for his collaborations with Biga*Ranx, Aloe Blacc and Puppa Jim.

In March 2025, Juliette began working with BlackJoy on her first solo EP, Guitare nouée sur corps étanche. An organic, enigmatic project built around voice and guitar, it explores her roots and the connections that shape her identity. A few months later, she released Les Routines, a collection of nine songs by artists whose music has accompanied her throughout her life and helped shape her own musical world.

In 2026, this exploration continued with Les Routines, Vol. 2 (L’Éveil), released on 28 August, followed by Le Cœur au bout des doigts, due out on 29 October, both on Les Rythmes Rubans. These two projects extend her artistic journey, exploring heritage, awakening and the desire to find her place in the world by allowing love to speak freely.

On stage, Juliette continues to perform across France and internationally. In 2026, she opened for Manu Chao and Véronique Sanson, while reaching a new milestone with her first headline shows in Paris.

As 2027 approaches, Juliette Magnevasoa continues to develop her solo project while preparing her debut full-length album. Her music exists at the crossroads of worlds, transforming an intimate personal story into something universal.
